Born: December 21, 1742 an LDS sources says 19 November 1742 in Woodbridge, Middlesex, New Jersey) of Samuel Freeman (#483) and Mary Stone (#484) The date is based on tombstone information. Her father's name is documented on page 269 of The Wroe and Chancellor Families Compiled by William C. Wroe).

Died: 26 September, 1819 in Woodbridge, Middlesex, New Jersey. She is buried with her husband at the Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Rahway, New Jersey. (Source: The Wroe and Chancellor Families Compiled by William C. Wroe, p. 269).

"In memory of

Mary, Widow of Capt John Payne

who died Sept 26, 1819 aged

76 years, 10 months and 7 days

Farewell, sister, children, friends,

My glass has now run out its sand,

I trust I've walked that narrow road
