Marriage Certificate of Henry Colerider (57) and Eleanor Love (58) , 16 September 1816

Transcript:

"Know all Men by these presents, that we Henry Coultrider and Edward H. Jackson are held and firmly bound unto Wilson C. Nicholas Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia for the time being, and his successors, to the use of the said Commonwealth, in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars; to which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our and each of our heirs; executors and administrators jointly any severally, firmly by these presents, sealed with our seals, and dated this seventeenth day of September 1816.

WHEREAS a marriage is suddenly intended to be had and solemnized between the above bound Henry Coultrider and Ellinder Love

Now the condition of the above obligation is such, that if there be no lawful cause or just impediment to insure the said marriage, then the above oligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue.
