Guardianship For Sarah Donnell's Girls 1866

Below is a document dated 25 May 1866 confirming that $1,000 was paid to the Court of Pleas of Guilford County, North Carolina as bond for appointing Daniel E. Albright (#23-c), Sarah Donnell (#28)'s brother, as the legal guardian of John Cunningham Donnell (#27)'s and Sarah's children, Mary Elizabeth Donnell (#14) and Sarah R. Donnell.

North Carolina, Guilford County.

Know all men by these presents, That we Daniel E. Albright
John G. Efland & George W Albright

all of said county, in the State aforesaid, are held and firmly bound unto the State of North Carolina in the sum of one thousand dollars, current money, to be paid to the State of North Carolina in trust, for the benefit of the children hereinafter named, committed to the tuition of the said Daniel E. Albright to which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves and each of us, each, and every of our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this
25 day of May 1866

The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above-bounden______

Daniel E Albright ____ is constituted and appointed GUARDIAN to

Mary E. Donnell & Sarah R Donnell

minor orphan; Now if the said Daniel E. Albright shall faithfully execute his Guardianship, and particularly shall well and truly secure and improve all the estate of the said children until they shall arrive at full age, or be sooner thereto required, and shall render a plain and true account of his Guardianship, on oath, before the Justices of our said Court, and in all cases as required by net of Assembly, and deliver up, pay or possess the children _____ of all such estates as they ought to be possessed of when lawfully required by said_____ children ____ or to such other persons as shall be lawfully empowered or authorized to receive the same and the profits therefrom, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and effect.
