Miscellaneous:

Olive lived her entire life in Pownal, Vermont. [Note: Russell Leach #3's previous statement should be corrected to Olive lived her entire adult life in Pownal, Vermont.] She was born in Sherborn, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Around 1753, she moved with her family to Holliston, Massachusetts. Then later they moved to Shrewsbury in Worcester County, Massachusetts. In 1762, the family moved to the area of Berkshire County known then as "Hartwood". At that time, Josiah Noble (Olive's future husband) was living in Pownal, Vermont, just over the northern border of Berkshire County, Massachusetts. [Note: In 1758, Olive's father, Asa, had petitioned the Massachusetts Colonial Legislature for a land grant for recognition of his service in the French and Indian War. He was granted acreage at "Hartwood" but the land grant specified that the family would build a "publick house" at which travelers could be "entertained." It may be that Josiah visited or stayed at the "publick house"and met Olive.]

[Note; Olive would have been living at home helping her mother care for her siblings while her father fought in the French and Indian War. Then, during the Revolutionary War, while her husband was fighting, she was at home with her many children. Many of the children were quite young. Fortunately, the older children could help raise the younger ones.]

Olive and Josiah had 11 children: Lucy, Sarah (#66), Miriam, Olive, Esther, Merey (Mercy), Anna, Mercy, Josiah, Ozem (Ozen), and Tryphena.
