Miscellaneous:

According to an e-mail received by the BRICKCHURCHNC e-mail list, titled "[BRICKCHURCHNC] John Clapp of Ohio and his daughter Permillia", dated 1/14/09, and written by Tom Wilson, Johann Sebastian Graves was a member of the "Regulators" who fought at the "Battle of Alamance." It is rumored that Johann had 35 children with 7 different wives, but that has not been proven. His possible brother, Jacob, was a brick mason in Philadelphia. In the mid 1770s, Jacob rented the 3rd floor of his home out to a young red-headed representative from Virginia...on that floor and in that house, our "Declaration of Independence" was hammered out...that "redhead" was Thomas Jefferson. Jacob's home has been restored / rebuilt as a museum in Philadelphia. Johann and Barbara were married near there (Germantown, Berks County, PA) on Oct 9 1736.?

Johann and Maria Magdalena had 7 children: John Graves, Maria Phillipena (#194/224), John Peter, William B., Barbara, John Jacob (#103), and Boston. [Note: Susan Snyder, webmaster of this genealogy site, is a direct descendant of two of their children . As father to John Jacob, Johann is Susan's G-G-G-G-G-Grandfather. As father to Maria Phillipena, Johann is Susan's G-G-G-G-G-G-Grandfather.]
