Albright (Albrecht) (#109) circa 1789 in Orange County, North Carolina, according to Ancestry.com; LDS says in Alamance County, North Carolina) [Note: Alamance County formed in 1849 from Orange County to the east, so the correct location in 1789 was Orange County.] (The preceeding blue information is from the Loy Family Website. Born: 13 May 1772 (The date is verified by her tombstone at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery) in Orange County, North Carolina, St. Asaph’s District. (Source: Low Family Website:http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~loyhistory/george1.html.) of George Loy (#219) & (Mary) Catherine (Catharine) Tilghman(Tilman) (Tillman) (#220).


Died: 23 September 1856 in Alamance County, North Carolina. She is buried at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Alamance County, North Carolina. (This date and place of the gravesite were confirmed by a visit to the cemetery by Susan Snyder (#3) and her cousins, Sandra Henson and Mary Lue Finch on 30 September 2005.)

c) John William "Fisher" Loy: (Married: Sally/Polly Miller, Nancy Miller); Born:15 August 1775 in Orange County, North Carolina. Died: 22 October 1840 in Anderson, now Union County, Tennessee;

d) Rachel Loy: (Married: Joel Albright before 1799); Born:1779 in Orange County, North Carolina. Died: Before 1842 in North Carolina,

e) Jacob Loy: (Married: Phoebe Tillman, his first cousin in July 1804 in Campbell County, Tennessee) Born: 20 February 1783 in Orange County, North Carolina. Died:16 February 1858 in Clarinda, Page, Iowa;

f) Sarah Loy: (Married: John Clapp in 1806); Born:1785 in Orange County, North Carolina. Died: 1 October 1855 in Graves County, Kentucky;

g) George Loy: (Married: Barsheba Massengale 10 August 1809); Born: 1 June/July 1789 in Orange County, North Carolina. Died: 3 November 1847 in Honeycomb Valley, Marshall County, Alabama,

h) Henry Loy: (Married: Martha "Patsy" Greenwood in July 1809 in Huntsville/ Honeycomb Valley, Madison County, AL); Born: 23 July 1790 in Orange County, North Carolina. Died: 21 August 1873 in Campell Hill, Northern District, Jackson County, Illinois;

i) William Loy: (Married: Duly Hill 26 September 1822 Anderson County, Tennessee); Born: 31 May 1794 in Orange County, North Carolina. Died: 22 January 1879 in Clarinda, Tarkio Township, Page County, Iowa.] (The blue information about Catharine's siblings is verified by her father's will, dated 18 October 1799 and by information on the Loy Family Website.

 

Miscellaneous:

Catharine was in the household with her husband in 1790 in Orange County, North Carolina and in 1850 in Alamance County, North Carolina.[Note: Alamance County formed in 1849 from Orange County to the east, so Catharine and Daniel may have been living in the very same location when both censuses were conducted.]

Daniel and Catharine had 9 children: Jacob (#55), George, William, Sophia, Daniel, Henry, Lewis, Elias, and Joel.

Below: Catharine's tombstone at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Alamance County, North Carolina. (GPS: 36° 1.396 minutes N, 79° 28.689 minutes W). These photographs were taken on 30 September 2005. In the photograph on the right, the tombstone was "chalked" to make the stone easier to read. When found, the top of Catharine's stone was broken off and face down in the earth. After the photo was taken, the top was leaned against the base and a letter was written to the cemetery to find out about having the stone repaired.
